  3.        This file contains release notes for SafeGard v1.2 on
  4.     changes made after the manual was printed.

  7.     Maintenance Release v1.2

  9.     V1.2 corrects a DOS buffers - cache coherency fault.
  10.  
  11.     This fault manifests itself on single diskette backups 
  12.     were the target diskette has been accessed by DOS prior to 
  13.     backup.  The result is diskette FAT corruption which is 
  14.     variable in severity depending on the sectors DOS had 
  15.     buffered prior to backup.

  17.     Testing has been done on the following OS's

  32.        Users experiencing snow problems on CGA monitors should
  33.     start SafeGard once using the undocumented /cga command line
  34.     parameter to correct the problem.  You will notice a
  35.     reduction in screen refresh rates as a result of this
  36.     operation.

  38.     Note: /ega removes the effects of /cga
  39.  
  40.     Performance Improvements
  41.     -------------------------
  42.     Performance Improvements may be obtained by configuring 
  43.     your system with a RAMDRIVE and the changing the TEMP 
  44.     file path to point to the RAMDRIVE within the <OPTIONS>
  45.     <SETUP> dialog.

  48.     Files created by SafeGard
  49.     -------------------------
  50.     - With every list you create SafeGard creates a hidden 
  51.       subdirectory off of your safegard directory to hold the
  52.       list information.

  54.     - To view these directories be sure that <View><Options>
  55.       <System_Files> is selected. 
  56.  
  57.     - Within this directory there are 5 index files which must
  58.       not be modified by the user.
